If you need a list of all your files on your hard drive or in a particular folder, DirLister can help you generate it at a moment's notice. The application has a simple design and a straightforward functionality, so you can prepare and execute the operation without any effort. Just target a folder and make a few simple output tweaks and the application will take care of the rest for you.

DirLister can be installed in under a minute, on any modern Windows system. It doesn't have any special requirements and you don't need powerful hardware to run it. Also, the application is offered completely free of charge, with no hidden fees or restrictions.

The software's user interface resembles a standard Explorer window, but with a few more options. You can browse through your local folders in a tree structure, on the left side of the window, and explore their contents in the larger area on the right, where you will also find a series of output options. You can set DirLister to store your list in HTML or TXT format, with or without file sizes, and you can also set up a file mask, if you want to list only files with specific names or extensions.

If you are satisfied with your output settings, you can just click a button and the software will create your list immediately. Even with a large number of files, DirLister takes only a second or two to create your list. What's more, the application adds a new option to the Windows Explorer context menu, which enables you to generate lists while browsing through your data.

Regardless of how you prepare it, once the process is complete, the application can open the list automatically, in Notepad or in your default web browser, if you make this setting. If you decide to save your list in HTML format, all files will be displayed as links to their actual content. In other words, if you export a list of photos, you can actually click each file name to view the photo, on the same browser window.
